We currently have seven business advisors at the Enterprise Centre. Between us, we have a wealth of experience and a wide range of expertise.

Alex Barclay

Alex offers specialist business advice to help organisations and individuals operating in creative industries sector of the knowledge economy build their value. He is especially experienced in the digital film/ media, arts and music niches. Services offered: strategic and business planning, diagnostic and portfolio management tools, training, mentoring, knowledge capital development. Clients include: theShanghai Creative Industries Group, NESTA, Red Ink Limited, Space, CIDA, informal.org, the Screens, EMDA, Marc Booth (B3 Media, London), Lise Autogena (media artist), Scanner (musician), Russell Haswell (artist) and Julie Freeman (media artist and member of Studiofish).

Alison Coward

Alison graduated with a BA Hons degree in Fashion Promotion & Marketing from the University of Central Lancashire.Her early career was spent helping to run a small mail order company that showcased interior, lifestyle and fashion products from UK-based designer-makers.Alison joined Hidden Art in 2003, a support organisation for designer-makers, to manage the membership and training programmes and project manage group exhibitions such as the Hidden Art showcases at 100% Design and the Milan Furniture Fair.After completing a part-time MA in Enterprise and Management for the Creative Arts, Alison joined ECCA as Lead Officer in January 2007.

Percy Emmett

Percy started his career in the creative industries over twenty years ago and in that time he has set up and run creative businesses of his own, in womenswear design, ceramics, publishing and graphic design. Along with ECCA, Percy has worked as a business advisor for various organisations such as The Princes Trust, The Public as their Commercial Development Manager, Lead Trainer for NESTA's Insight Out programme and Lead Trainer for Creative Alliance, Birmingham.

Percy has worked with over 500-pre start up and established businesses in his professional career.

Percy sees Arts London students only.

Diana Hudson

Diana is an experienced and imaginative business consultant and trainer, specializing in creative and cultural organisations. She enjoys assisting businesses to focus, develop and attract funding. Diana has a broad and interesting network of contacts in the commercial and arts fields. Her business is currently responsible for developing a sustainable project in a regeneration area of North London. Diana is a a qualified social enterprise adviser and has developed a particular niche in the arts community.

Diana sees Arts London graduates and creative businesses based in London.

Martin McKee, tax specialist

Martin has worked as a business advisor for the HMRC (formally Inland Revenue) Business Suppport Team for the last six years. The Business Support Team gives free help, advice and training to new and small businesses, supporting both self-employed (sole trader) and limited companies. Along with ECCA, Martin has worked with a range of creative organisations such as the Clerkenwell Green Association, The Design Council, Chelsea College of Art, The Royal College of Art and many others as well as other enterprise agencies.

Martin deals with tax only, and sees Arts London graduates and creative businesses based in London.

Rachel Smart

Rachel trained as a designer with a foundation course and sandwich BA degree before becoming director of an architectural practice. Whilst managing the practice she completed a Masters in Business Administration at Durham University Business School. In 2000 she founded a management consultancy for small creative businesses.

Rachel offers a range of services to start-up, run and grow businesses for more profit and less stress and deals exclusively with creative clients from individual designer-makers, architectural practices, through fashion and graphics, to new media. She is also working on her PhD looking at strategy in micro design businesses, is a member of the Institute of Management Consultancy and Institute of Directors.
