Q: What does LCC stand for?
A:
LCC is the London College of Communication, which is part of the University of the Arts London. The other colleges in the university are: Chelsea College of Art & Design, Camberwell College of Arts, Central St. Martins College of Art & Design and London College of Fashion.

Q: What does The Enterprise Centre do?
A:
The Enterprise Centre offers free services and facilities to students and graduates (up to 3 years) of the University of the Arts London, about working for themselves or setting up a business in the creative industries.

Q: Do I need to pay for advice sessions at The Enterprise Centre?
A:
ECCA is currently reviewing and developing its service offer. For the time being, we will be continuing to provide free business advice to students and graduates (up to 3 years) of the University of the Arts London (our target audience) and taking a break from our free business advice service for creative businesses who do not fall into our target category. This will commence from January 2010. We are looking into all provision and will keep you informed of any other developments.

A: Anyone living and/or working in the London area can use the Enterprise Centre.

Q: When should I become self-employed?
A: You need to register as self-employed with the Inland Revenue as soon as you start working for yourself. Call the Helpline for the Newly Self-Employed on 08459 15 45 15 for more information.

Q: How do I get funding to start my business?
A:
It depends on your individual circumstances. There are many different sources of funding: private, national, bank loans etc. Look at the resources section of the site for more information. We would recommend that you book an appointment to see us to discuss the most appropriate sources of funding for your business.

A: Not directly. But we can offer ideas about the types of people and organisations you might want to approach.

Q: Why aren't I making any money?
A: There might be many reasons why you aren’t making any money. Maybe you aren’t considering your target market properly, maybe you are pricing yourself incorrectly or maybe you need some press exposure. We would recommend that you book an appointment to see us to discuss your individual circumstances.

We offer guidance and referrals to organisations that can help support your business. Unfortunately, we do not have any direct funds.
