getting seen as a film-maker/animator
If you want to be a successful film maker/animator you need to get your work seen.
This session touched on the advantages of screenings and showcasing events, entering festivals and competitions, and how to make the most of self-promotion and other networking opportunities.
Jamie talked about the various 'small things' which led him towards larger scale projects with higher profile clients. He stressed the necessity of developing a portfolio of works, and the importance of standing out from the crowd through emphasising one's unique character.
He also emphasised the importance of relationship-building and reaching out to the commissioning editors, their assistants, as well as journalists who are able to help review/publicise your works.
