This event explored the different selling methods for designer/makers, whether at a trade show, through retailers, direct to the public or online. It looked at approaching and working with buyers, targeting and reaching your customers effectively, exploring different retail methods and identifying relevant fairs and shows.
Reiko Kaneko, CSM graduate (2005) discussed her experiences of setting up as a designer/maker since leaving University and how she sells directly to retailers and via trade shows.
Chris Curtis, co-founder of shop Lifestyle Bazaar gave an overview of how they find work for their store and how the retailer-designer relationship works
Furniture designer Gareth Neal discussed how he sells his work from taking commissions to selling via galleries.
