[Ent09] Getting seen as a film-maker / animator

If you want to be a successful film maker/animator you need to get your work seen. Find out how to take advantage of screenings and showcasing events, how to enter festivals and competitions, and how to make the most of self-promotion and other opportunities.

Speaker: Jamie J Johnson
Jamie studied at Central Saint Martins and the National Film And Television School.
He makes affectionately comic authored films and animations with a homemade, celebratory and playful feel. He has been nominated for BAFTA (best New Director), Broadcast (Best New Director Factual) and Grierson Awards (Best Cinema Documentary)(Best Newcomer) and has made documentaries about medievally wooing Swedish Princesses, his love of Breakfast Cereals, a Holiday Around his Bedroom, the MiniGolf world Championships, The Junior Eurovision, The Slowest Ever Swimmer in Olympic history and people who own robot dogs.
His recent documentary Sounds Like Teen Spirit, was a huge success at cinemas.
