making money from your creativity
About the programme
ECCA wants to help Arts London students to use their creative talents to generate an income through freelance work, or setting up a small business whilst still studying. The 'Making money from your creativity' programme has been set up to encourage them to explore ways in which they can do this, whilst at the same time providing the practical support to ensure they can manage it properly.
The programme was launched with an event on 11 March. The event showcased graduates who began earning money from projects during their studies. As part of the programme, ECCA will regularly be commissioning Arts London students to create artwork for the ECCA website.
So far, ECCA has commissioned and provided support to:
Michael Hoang, FdA Graphics & Communication student, London College of Communication (2007). ECCA asked Michael to produce an animation that would describe our services to students and graduates. The work is showcased on the ECCA website, used in teaching sessions and at the start of events. See the animation
here.
Chris Lee, moving image in Graphic Design, second year student, Central Saint Martins. Chris was the winner of the 2007 Pathfinding Week competition, where ECCA asked students to upload work that could be showcased on the new website. Members were invited to vote on the submissions, and selected Chris, who ECCA then commissioned to produce more images. See Chris' work here.
